The HB-R-SDI is a compact HDBaseT receiver that turns a standard Cat 5e/6/6a/7 network run into an extended 3G-SDI video path — up to 100 metres, well beyond what SDI cable alone can reliably carry. Paired with an HB-T-SDI transmitter at the source end, it lets an SDI signal ride over ordinary structured cabling instead of heavy coax runs.
Alongside video, it carries 8 channels of embedded SDI audio (selectable from 16), plus bidirectional RS-232 and IR over the same HDBaseT link, so a single cable run can also carry device control back to the source. It handles everything from SD up through 4K/UltraHD at up to 30fps, with configuration done via USB and AJA's Mini-Config software.
Compact and low-power (9W max), it's a straightforward way to get SDI to a projector, display or recorder that's too far from the source for a direct cable run — common in fixed installs, digital signage, and studio environments.
